Karnage

Jura, France

A dynamic winemaking venture born in 2020 through the vision of Charles Dagand and Stéphane Planche, prominent figures within the Jura region. With Charles's winemaking experience, formerly linked with Alice Bouvot of Domaine de L’Octavin and Stéphane's ownership of the esteemed Les Jardins de St. Vincent wine shop in Arbois, the duo embarked on a mission to craft exceptional wines.

Karnage sources grapes from diverse regions across France, a venture largely inspired by Charles's past challenges, including the loss of entire grape harvests to disease and frost. Their winemaking philosophy centers on producing vibrant, health-conscious cuvées, each bearing its own unique style and characterized by pure, untamed flavors.

Karnage's dedication to sharing their passion for natural, energetic wines is evident in every bottle. The selection of grapes is facilitated through recommendations from esteemed winemakers like Anthony Tortul of La Sorga, ensuring the highest quality produce. While Karnage lacks its own vineyards, they harvest grapes from various French regions, spanning from Canet-en-Roussillon to Alsace. Vinification takes place in their cellar, where the raw grapes are meticulously transformed into extraordinary wines.

The artistic touch seen in Karnage's labels comes from Tony Pessoa, a close friend and talented artist, adding a distinct visual flair to their exceptional creations.
