Domaine de l’Octavin
Jura, France
Nestled in the serene Arbois region of the Jura, Alice Bouvot tends to her 5-hectare biodynamic vineyards with unwavering dedication. Growing up in Besançon, Alice was inspired by music, which led to the name Domaine de l'Octavin, symbolized by the treble clef. After studying agricultural engineering and becoming an oenologist, she travelled the world's vineyards before returning to settle in Arbois. Collaborating with Charles Dagand in 2005, they established the domaine, which she took over alone in 2015. What began as a modest 2-hectare estate has blossomed, with Alice meticulously acquiring small plots and nurturing them into fruitful havens of viticulture.
Alice's vineyards have been managed organically and biodynamically since 2006 and 2007, promoting living soils and "natural" wines. Her approach transposes each terroir into unique compositions, fostering enriching exchanges with fellow winemakers. At L’Octavin, purity reigns supreme, with wines bearing the "pur jus" label since 2009, crafted without additives in reverence for nature's wisdom.
L’Octavin is more than a winery; it's a vibrant ecosystem where wild plants, buzzing insects and playful animals coalesce in a harmonious symphony.
