Nerello Mascalese Blend

Blend of 90% Nerello Mascalese, 5% Nerello Cappuccio (Alicante) with around 5% white indigenous Etnean grapes (Grecanico, Minnella Bianca, and Carricante). All organically grown on terraced vineyards high on Mt Etna's north facing slopes. Grapes were hand-harvested then fermented by indigenous yeasts in various vessels, with skin contact ranging from a few days to 8-10 days. A significant portion of whole bunches were used with all wines underwent malolactic fermentation. The final blend showcases a balanced, energetic wine, bursting with fruit and the characteristic minerality of grapes grown at high altitudes on volcanic soils.
