Nero d'Avola Blend

A blend of 60% Nero d'Avola and 40% Frappato di Vittoria were sourced from estate vineyards in the hamlet of Bastonica in the Vittoria area, 230 meters elevation. All grapes were hand-harvested from vines averaging 25 years of age. Fermentation happens spontaneously on the skins in concrete tanks for 10-15 days with indigenous yeast in amphorae. The wine is aged for 6 months in amphorae followed by 2-3 months in concrete tanks and finally 3 months in the bottle before release.
